Academy Award-nominated actress and multi-platinum recording artist Hailee Steinfeld is the latest celebrity to make her mark in the spirits industry. Teaming up with Mexico's Premium Beers Group, Steinfeld has launched Angel Margarita, a premium ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail crafted with 100% Agave Tequila from Jalisco, Mexico.
Angel Margarita aims to redefine the RTD space with its commitment to authenticity and quality, delivering a taste experience that transports consumers straight to the agave fields of Jalisco. The brand will debut with four distinct flavors—Lime, Grapefruit Paloma, Ranch Water, and Wild Berry—catering to the evolving preferences of modern drinkers.
The RTD category has seen explosive growth in recent years, fueled by shifting consumer preferences toward convenience, premiumization, and flavor innovation. According to IWSR’s newly published RTDs Strategic Study 2024, RTD volumes in the top 10 global markets – Canada, the US, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, the UK, Germany, China, Japan and Australia – rose by 2%, with the strongest gains in Mexico (+8%) and Germany (+4%). Tequila, a key ingredient in Angel Margarita, was the second fastest-growing spirits category, reaching $6.5 billion in value.
Younger consumers, particularly Millennials and Gen Z, are driving this surge, prioritizing drinks that align with their active lifestyles and social habits. RTDs eliminate the hassle of mixology while maintaining high-quality ingredients, making them the go-to choice for those who value both convenience and craft. With an increased focus on health-conscious choices, many consumers also appreciate that Angel Margarita is gluten-free and made with natural ingredients.
Steinfeld’s venture into the spirits world follows a growing trend of celebrities launching their own alcohol brands. From George Clooney’s Casamigos Tequila to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Teremana, star power has proven to be a major influence in driving consumer interest and brand credibility. Recently, Beyoncé partnered with Moet Hennesy to create SirDavis a premium whiskey, while Snoop Dogg expanded his presence in the industry with his 19 Crimes wine collection.
Reflecting on her inspiration behind Angel Margarita, Steinfeld shared, “Margaritas have always been my go-to cocktail, so making a ready-to-drink version with high-quality ingredients that didn’t compromise on taste was important to me. After visiting the Blue Agave fields in Jalisco with my partners Jordi and Rodrigo, I was inspired by the region. I am so proud of what we have created together and cannot wait for the world to try Angel Margarita.”
Angel Margarita is backed by key players in the beverage industry, including Philip Button, Founder and CEO of Seven XV Ventures, and Geloso Beverage Group, a leader in North American beverage distribution. Their expertise and resources will support Angel Margarita’s launch, starting in Southern California before expanding to broader markets.
“Hailee is the perfect partner to help us share an authentic piece of our culture and redefine the ready-to-drink market through Angel Margarita with a more global audience,” said co-founders Jordi Zindel and Rodrigo Hernandez. “We invite consumers to taste our 100% Agave Tequila premium cocktails and to experience an authentic piece of Mexico in every sip.”
What sets Angel Margarita apart from other RTD cocktails is its emphasis on authenticity and craftsmanship. The product is sourced and manufactured in Jalisco, Mexico, under the region’s Protected Denomination of Origin. The 12 oz cans, at 6% ABV, are expertly crafted using 100% Agave Tequila Blanco, sparkling water, agave syrup, and natural flavors.
Retailing at $14.99 for a 4-pack and $28.99 for an 8-pack variety, Angel Margarita delivers an accessible yet premium drinking experience that bridges tradition with modern convenience.
As the RTD market continues to expand, brands that combine celebrity influence, high-quality ingredients, and cultural authenticity stand to make the biggest impact. Hailee Steinfeld’s Angel Margarita embodies this winning formula, entering the scene at a time when consumers are more eager than ever to embrace sophisticated yet effortless cocktail experiences.
With RTDs revolutionizing how we drink, and celebrities increasingly merging into the spirits world, Angel Margarita is poised to become the next big name in the booming tequila-based RTD market.
